Objective:
To stimulate sales 100-percent above quota to qualify for a Bermuda trip.
Strategy and Execution:
For seven months, 1300 sales people worldwide were sent specialty
gifts accompanied by related poems to remind them of the benefits of doubling
their quotas of computer software and qualifying for the client's elite
sales club. Kicking off the promotion was a pair of sunglasses carrying out the promotion theme about rising sales and
the setting sun. Lip balm on a
string, cup koozies, thermometers and suntan lotion were other promotional products used. Winners arriving in Bermuda
received snack packs and fun packs containing a jacket, visor and
other gifts.
Results:
It was reported 26 percent of the sales force had sales 100
percent above quota.
